Dr. Bob Filippone (Executive Director) is a radiologist with Milwaukee Radiologists in Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa. Having been involved in theater since junior high school, Bob founded the Student Repertory Theater in Westfield, New Jersey as a teenager and Des Moines Young Artists’ Theatre at the First Unitarian Church of Des Moines in 2007. He is thrilled to have this opportunity to share the magic of live theater with his family, friends and Greater Des Moines community. He credits his involvement in theatre with helping him through all aspects of his life. Bob and his family opened Des Moines Onstage in 2012 and Noce – Jazz / Cabaret in 2015. Bob has directed and produced many shows for DMYAT over the years and returned to the stage as Edward Bloom in Big Fish for Adolescent Anarchy.
Dr. Maria Filippone (Financial Director) is a general practice physician. She received her medical degree from Kansas City University, completed an Internship at Des Moines General Hospital and was a resident at Case Western Reserve University. She a full time mother, member of the PTA, a library book consultant and an active participant at the First Unitarian Church of Des Moines. She also serves as treasurer for the Gray’s Lake Neighborhood Association. She enjoys gardening, yoga, dance, and anything her children participate in. With 16 years of dance experience, she often choreographs and helps direct the childrens’ shows. She is the Financial Director for Des Moines Onstage and CFO of Aunt Minnie, Inc.
